Biographical Info

I am the Principal Agent of UPvision Consulting, LLC a Legal Nurse Consulting Firm located in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. I am also an Assistant Professor of Nursing providing both classroom and clinical instruction for Baccalaureate Nursing Students for Lake Superior State University. With over 28 years of nursing experience I have a wealth of knowledge related to professional nursing practice in the areas of clinical nursing, nursing management and leadership, nursing education, legal nurse consulting, and mediation.

I am an independent mediator and can mediate in all states. I am skilled in virtual mediation processes. My mediation skills are used to give back through pro-bono mediation with the South Eastern Dispute Resolution Center and Northern Mediation Center in Michigan. In addition to mediation, I provided testifying and non-testifying services for health care related cases. Primary areas of expertise are general standards of nursing care and practice, medical surgical, long term care, and home health care. I am highly skilled in report writing, research, and also serve attorneys and their clients behind the scenes in a variety of ways including mediation and settlement. I work with both Plaintiff and Defense.

My national certifications are from the Institute of Health Care Improvement as a Certified Professional in Patient Safety and national certification from the National Association of Certified Mediators. I am certified to train those who want to become mediators and I hold a certificate from ASHP in medication administration safety.

I completed a Certificate in Legal Nurse Consulting from Brighton College in 2017. I am a 2011 graduate of Walden University's Masters in Nursing program with a specialized focus in Nursing Management and Leadership. My Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from Lake Superior State University was earned in 1994.

I maintain memberships with the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC), National Association of Certified Mediators, American Nurses Association (ANA), ANA-Michigan, Michigan Nursing Action Coalition, Sigma Theta Tau International, , Greater Orlando Chapter of the AANC, American Society of Professionals in Patient Safety, National League for Nursing, National Education Association, Michigan Education Association, Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce, Small Business Association of Michigan, and is an Honorary Life-Time Member of the National Society of Leadership Success.
