KATE POJETA, CAE – Executive Director 2026 – Present The executive director of the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel, Inc is the chief executive officer of a robust statewide professional association. The executive director is directly reportable to the 16-member board of directors and is supervised by the elected president. With 20+ years of association management experience, Kate Pojeta is a seasoned professional with data-driven and time-tested plans that have helped multiple organizations achieve high performance with events, memberships and sponsorships.

Starting with Michigan associations, Pojeta quickly ascended from administrative work while finishing her bachelor’s degree at MSU, to a management position in a long-standing, exemplary education association. Acquiring her CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) was an important milestone to the future and helped her pursue work with national level organizations after that. From associations in the medical field to lawyers to educators, Pojeta was integral to the success of hundreds of conferences and the management of thousands of board volunteers. In that time, she continued to elevate her education and experiences, culminating in achieving her Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation through the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).

Kate Pojeta continues making a mark on a variety of organizations as Chief Operating Officer at Shared Resources, Inc. She also takes personal pride in helping throughout the local community – and you will find her delivering holiday meals, helping to volunteer at school events or sporting matches, towing the marching band trailer, or volunteering on whatever signup just got sent around! Her husband teaches high school science, coaches track & field and becomes the shuttle driver during his summer off. Kate and her husband have four incredible humans they get to raise together, with the most amazing village of family and friends surrounding them.
