Liza C. Moore

Liza Moore is an attorney at Foster, Swift, Collins & Smith, P.C., in the law firm’s Lansing, Michigan office. Liza's civil litigation practice involves team representation of cities, villages, townships, schools, businesses, insurance companies, agribusinesses, farms, and individuals in state and federal courts at the trial and appellate level. At Foster Swift, Liza has helped with matters ranging from civil rights cases to land use disputes to employment issues. Liza has written successful dispositive motions in state and federal courts, and has been actively involved in the writing and filing of multiple briefs with the United States Supreme Court.

In summer 2012, Liza worked with other attorneys to create the Agricultural Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan. Liza was elected the section’s first chairperson in 2013. She is currently the section’s secretary. Liza is the 2015 president of the Board of Directors of the Michigan FFA Foundation. Liza's involvement in agriculture is life-long. She grew up working on her parents' farm in Indiana, and served as an Indiana FFA State Officer full-time for a year before going to college.

Liza graduated from the University of Chicago, earning her bachelor’s degree with honors and receiving special honors in her Environmental Studies major. Liza graduated cum laude from Indiana University School of Law—Bloomington. During law school, Liza served as a managing editor of the Indiana Law Journal and worked at Indiana Legal Services, Inc. She also interned at the Indiana Department of Environmental Management’s Office of Legal Counsel. Liza first came to Foster Swift as a summer associate in 2007 and rejoined the firm in 2008 after graduating from law school.
