John P. Jacobs - Past Presidents Committee Chair

Mr Jacobs is an MDTC past President and also an Excellence in defense Award recipient. Mr. Jacobs obtained a B.A. from the University of Detroit in 1967 (Cum Laude) and a J.D. from University of Detroit School of Law in 1970 (Magna Cum Laude). In addition to serving as an active member of the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel’s board of directors for over 18 years, he maintains many professional affiliations including: Catholic Lawyers Society of the Archdiocese of Detroit , Defense Research Institute; Federation of Insurance and Corporate Counsel; International Association of Defense Counsel; Supreme court of the United States Bar; Bar of the Sixth, Fourth and District of Columbia Circuits; Federal Bar Association; Oakland County Bar Association, Detroit Bar Association; Arab American Bar Association; Irish-American Bar Association and the American Bar Association among others. He is also a former Adjunct Professor of Law (Advanced Appellate Advocacy) with the University of Detroit School of Law as well as being a published author of several articles. Mr. Jacobs has received numerous awards and honors throughout his distinguished career.
