Edward P. Perdue
Ed Perdue, is a member of the large Michigan law firm Dickinson Wright PLLC. He focuses his practice on general commercial litigation, the defense of product liability litigation, class action litigation, railroad defense litigation, constitutional and civil rights law, and construction law. Representative clients have included Pfizer/Specialty Minerals, Inc., UNOVA Inc, Dow Chemical, and Budget Rent-A-Car. Mr. Perdue earned his B.A. degree (cum laude) from Villanova University in 1989 then went on to serve as an officer in the United States Marine Corps from 1989–1997. Among other honors, for his service in Northern Iraq in 1991 he received the Navy Achievement Medal, the Southwest Asia Service Medal with Star, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the National Defense Medal, and the New York State Conspicuous Service Award. He earned his J.D. degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 1996. Mr. Perdue speaks fluent Spanish and his mother was born and raised in Colombia, South America. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Grand Rapids Bar Association, a former board member of the Grand Rapids Housing Appeals Board and of the Heritage Hill Association. He currently serves on the Grand Rapids Bar Association's Diversity Committee and is also a member of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish Education Commission. Mr. Perdue is the author of the following: "Ask an Attorney" column in Heritage Hill Herald on property-related neighborhood issues; Chapter titled "Michigan Securities Law" in Michigan Business Torts, 2d Ed (ICLE 2003); Winning the Battle of the Forms, MiBiz West and MiBiz Southwest, Fall 2003.
