Robert H. S. Schaffer
Past President Questionnaire
1. What do you remember most about your MDTC Presidency?
While MDTC President, I worked with a few other motivated members and Madelyne Lawry to expand the membership from a primarily insurance defense personal injury group to a more diverse group of litigators serving the justice system in the injury, tort and business litigation world.
2. Which past president(s) influenced you the most or made the biggest impact on your involvement in MDTC?
I was fortunate to be the beneficiary of influence and guidance over many years by multiple MDTC past presidents. Initially, an impression was made by seeing the dedication and long term interaction of leaders like Jose Brown, Jim Lozier, Pat Geary and Ed Kronk. Working closely with Terry Miglio and Peter Dunlap solidified my personal commitment to MDTC.
3. What have you enjoyed most about your involvement in MDTC?
I’ve enjoyed very close relationships with dozens of MDTC members. By staying involved and getting to know others with long term commitments to the organization, I developed personal friendships and countless business opportunities that continue to the present.
4. What are you doing now?
Today, I manage a personal law practice primarily devoted to healthcare law and healthcare related transactions, mostly as Chief Legal Officer for Radiology Business Solutions, LLC, a national consulting and practice management firm.
