Press Release: New Executive Director begins work at Land Conservancy of West Michigan
Past President Questionnaire
1. What do you remember most about your MDTC Presidency?
The Annual Meeting of 2000. Tremendous setting at Mission Point on Mackinaw Island, Excellent turnout (and weather) for the program, and my bride and three small boys getting a snapshot view of what their husband/father does and, perhaps, just a taste of the “value added” by our distinguished profession.
2. Which past president(s) influenced you the most or made the biggest impact on your involvement in MDTC?
John Jacobs and John Jacobs. Did I mention John Jacobs? A friend, mentor, leader, and a forceful, unwavering advocate for the defense bar in the State of Michigan.
3. What have you enjoyed most about your involvement in MDTC?
The comradery, networking, and learning opportunities continue to make MDTC membership a pleasure and, an incredible value. Working with a true professional and delightful person like Madelyne Lawry – our executive director for over 20 years – remains the icing on the cake.
4. What are you doing now?
I am still enjoying the full time practice of law, representing health care providers in professional liability and licensing matters. I am also blessed to be working with and mentoring our practice groups’ bright, young, “next generation” of lawyers – a privilege both gratifying and humbling at the same time.
